Jean Augustine has made a special gift of historically significant and of important archival items to York University. Among these gifts is Jean's Parliamentary Chair from the House of Commons, her Parliamentary Robes and portrait, photos, commemorative items and gifts. In addition, Jean has donated a collection of papers documenting her time as an elected representative of Canadians. These gifts highlight Jean's contributions to Canada, and will inspire others to aim high and contribute. Her papers will be archived in order to allow students access for research purposes. Jean's collection will provide a focal point with which to illustrate the power of human will, engagement and education. York University will display this collection with pride.

Fund Raising Initiative :

In addition to Jean's inspirational gift, Jean has assembled a committee of volunteers. Jean Augustine's Committee has lead and will continue to lead fundraising efforts to raise money that will be endowed to fund an academic chair. For the Chair to remain in perpetuity, a $3 million commitment has to be made, with a lead gift of $500,000.
